TRAVEL TIPS

Greg and I are truly grateful for your efforts in traveling to celebrate our special day with us. To make your trip as smooth as possible, we’re happy to assist with any travel plans or logistics—just let us know how we can help!

We recommend utilizing ride-share (ie. Uber, Lyft) to travel from the airport to the hotel.

Alternatively, there are several rental car companies available at the airport should you want more flexibility to explore the area.

Non-stop flights from LGA (NYC) are available.

Where to Stay

The Campbell House

Getting Around

FROM THE AIRPORT: We recommend utilizing ride-share (ie. Uber, Lyft) to travel from the airport to the hotel. Alternatively, there are several rental car companies available at the airport should you want more flexibility to explore the area.

TO AND FROM THE VENUE: Castle and Key is a~30 minute drive from downtown Lexington, located in a very rural area of Kentucky with winding single-lane roads. We will have scheduled transportation via two, 55-passenger motor coach buses to and from our wedding venue on Saturday, May 16th. The buses will depart at 4:30 PM from The Campbell House hotel in Lexington, KY. There will be three scheduled departures from Castle and Key back to the hotel, at 9 PM, 10 PM and final departure at 11 PM (conclusion of our wedding).

We DO NOT recommend utilizing ride-share services (ie. Uber or Lyft) to travel to our wedding venue as coverage in this area is NOT reliable. Additionally, cell phone service is very unreliable in the area. Alternatively, please use our scheduled coach buses (above) or you can schedule a ride with Uber/Lyft or a local taxi service. We kindly ask, for your safety, to please drink responsibly and do not plan to drive if you are consuming alcohol at our wedding.

Alternative Hotel Options

We want you to have some flexibility in choosing a hotel, in case our wedding block does not meet your individual needs. We would also recommend the following hotels:

• The Elwood: located less than 500 feet from The Campbell House hotel
• 21c Lexington: art-filled boutique hotel located in the heart of downtown Lexington
• Marriott Lexington Griffin Gate Golf Resort & Spa

Q & A

Are children allowed at the wedding?

As much as we love children, our wedding venue is a fully functional distillery, and not safe for children to be unsupervised. Please feel free to reach out to us if you are having difficulty finding reliable childcare (We know a lot of Pediatricians!).

What should I wear?

Guests are encouraged to wear formal attire, but we always welcome flexibility and creativity with your look. Your comfort level is always our number one priority so you can enjoy the evening!

For Men: A tuxedo or dark suit with a tie is ideal with a crisp dress shirt, polished dress shoes, and well-groomed accessories (like a pocket square or cufflinks).

For Women: A floor-length gown, a formal cocktail dress, or an elegant dressy pantsuit are all great choices.

What shoes should I wear?

For Men:
Choose shoes that are comfortable and have a solid sole suitable for walking on grass.

For Women:
Elegant, comfortable heels or dressy flats that won’t sink into grass—block heels or wedges are great options. Avoid thin stilettos and opt for shoes that offer support and stability for outdoor settings.

There are grassy areas in our venue, however the majority of event areas are accessible via pavement. Our ceremony is in a garden, accessible by pavement, but you will be seated on grass.

Why Kentucky?

As many of you know, Greg and I are both originally from Upstate NY. We first experienced the Central KY region after moving to Cincinnati for our medical residencies. We chose this location because it holds a special place in our hearts, as a place we experienced together for the first time as a couple, and we’re excited to share this unique part of the country with you.

We hope you love exploring Central Kentucky as much as we do, from the legendary Bourbon Trail and its historic distilleries to the picturesque farmland that’s home to world-renowned Thoroughbred horses and iconic racetracks like Keeneland.
